Meet our instructors...

Annie Gill
Annie has been studying voice and piano since 1991.  She holds a BM from Indiana U, a MM from Boston U, as well as a Performance Diploma from The Peabody Conservatory.  Though she concentrates on Opera in her own singing, she teaches all vocal styles.

Don Parker
Don has been playing guitar since 1983 and teaching privately at S&S Music since 2004.  Don received his Associate of Arts in Theory/Composition and Performance from PGCC.  He is currently working on a double major at Bowie State University in guitar performance and music technology. His personal playing and teaching style includes influences from classical to jazz, country and blues, to metal and beyond.

Gretchen McCracken
Gretchen holds a BME from the University of North Carolina Greensboro School of Music.  Gretchen previously taught middle and high school band in North Carolina and she started teaching at S&S Music in 2002.  She is currently a member of the Columbia Orchestra and she also performs as a freelance musician throughout the area.

Joseph Calianno
Joseph Calianno is a MD Advanced Professional Certificate holder for public and private education with over 30 years experience. He graduated from Towson U. with a Masters in Music Education and has taught band, strings, and guitar at area schools since 1983.

John Collins
John holds a BME and a MME from Howard U and has been a music educator since 1969 in the Anne Arundel and Howard County Public Schools system.  John founded the MacArthur String Orchestra and headed the music department at Meade High School 1976-1998.  He has been a music instructor at S&S Music since 2004.

John Haggerty
John has been studying music since 1995 and is currently pursuing a degree in Jazz/Commercial Composition from Towson U.  In addition to music composition, John is also continuing advanced violin studies with Towson Professor, Dr. Jeffery Howard.

Ryan Romano
Ryan Romano is a multi-talented musician with live and studio experience, focusing on percussion. Ryan has hands on experience in teaching children and adults. With his enthusiastic approach and excellent communication skills, he is perfect for both beginners and established students.

Scott Baker
With over 20 years of teaching experience, Scott Baker is a welcomed addition to the drum staff at S&S Music. Scott graduated from St.Marys College of Maryland with a degree in Music Performance and has since performed and recorded with numerous groups. Private lessons are now available with Mr. Baker for students of all ages and skill levels.
